Aspen Wags to Riches is located in the Cheryl and Sam Wyly Aspen/Pitkin County Animal Shelter in Aspen, Colorado. Proceeds from sales go directly to the care and welfare of the shelter animals, thus our name "Aspen Wags to Riches" ­ where pets go from a loving shelter and lots of tail WAGS TO the RICHES of a loving home.  Thank you for helping us help them!

Aspen Wags to Riches Stories

Max and Stryder

Max, the Rottweiler, was rescued from death row in an overcrowded shelter in Merced County, California.  Stryder was rescued from the streets of New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Both were brought to the Aspen Animal Shelter, were adopted by Anne Gurchick and now live in a loving home overlooking the river outside of Aspen.

Missy

Missy was rescued from the streets of New Orleans days after Hurricane Katrina and the resulting floods ravaged the city.  Missy now lives a life of luxury in the Aspen mountains with Melissa Dettlinger.

Petey

Petey was also rescued from an overcrowded shelter in Merced, California and now resides with Bland Nesbit in Aspen.  He goes on long hikes in the mountains every day with his "siblings" Gracie, Cleo, Zoe and Coalie.
